Interaction Launches Online Registration Service
Interaction today announced the official launch of its Online
Registration Service, enabling memberships to be bought directly
over the Internet using a variety of Credit Cards.
The Online Registration Service is designed to be secure and
easy to use and offers a full range of membership types (Adult
Attending and Support, Child and Infant). The service currently
supports VISA, Mastercard and Discover cards with further options
expected to be added in due course. VISA and Mastercard charges
are processed in UK Pounds and Discover charges in US Dollars.
Experience from other Worldcons has shown that Online
Registration is popular with both members and Convention
organisers, and a significant take-up of the Service is expected.
The Convention makes no extra charge for using Online
Registration, although member's banks may apply their own
charges in some cases (for instance where currency conversion
is involved).
For those with a technical interest, security for the Online
Registration Service is achieved through an SSL connection which
encrypts all data being transferred. The Service is hosted
by a leading commercial service provider for initial protection.
The Online Registration Service can be accessed via the
Interaction website at
http://www.interaction.worldcon.org.uk/.
