PRESS RELEASE #34 - Interaction Provides Dealers, Artists,
Exhibitors and Members with Additional Shipping Services
GLASGOW, Thursday 28 April 2005
Kuehne + Nagel appointed as Interaction lead shipping and customs
partner - international exhibitors encouraged to come to Glasgow
- Art Show accepting mail-in - additional services for members.
Interaction is pleased to announce the appointment of
Kuehne + Nagel
as lead partner for shipping and customs activities. Kuehne + Nagel
will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery
of dealers merchandise, art displays and other exhibits at the
Convention in time for the August 2005 event.
The Kuehne + Nagel service will remove the stress from international
exhibitors by providing a full service from point of origin
to the floor of the convention. Kuehne + Nagel will coordinate
Interaction's global shipping requirement from their Atlanta
office in the USA. Within the UK, shipping services will be
provided by TNT Showfreight as Kuehne + Nagel's local partner.
Interaction has simultaneously announced details of its Art Show
plans. These include full support for Mail-In art from those
artists who would like to participate in the Art Show but cannot
attend the convention in person. For those coming from North
America, Interaction has also arranged for a consolidation
service enabling artists to combine their art work into a
single international shipment to increase convenience and
reduce cost.
The Interaction Dealers' Room and Art Show will be amongst the
main focal points of the Convention, covering over 3000 square
metres of exhibition space and providing members with the chance to
see and buy books, music, memorabilia, paintings, sculpture, and
other items. The Hall will also feature historic and other
not-for-sale exhibits including an art display by one of
Interaction's Special Guests, artist Alan Lee, who is best
know for his Oscar-winning work on the Lord of the Rings
film trilogy.
Interaction is currently finalising arrangements for a further
service which will enable members to ship their purchases back home
after the Convention. This is expected to be especially useful
for the many international members who will be combining their
Convention attendance with a wider vacation in Scotland.
Full details of these services are available from Interaction's
web site. Details of the
Kuehne + Nagel service can be found at
www.interaction.worldcon.org.uk/customs.htm whilst information on the Art Show consolidation service and Mail-In can be found at
